Insulating isn't Enough

You can't just insulate without addressing your ventilation. Adding insulation without ventilation can actually create problems. Our insulation consultants will assess your attic ventilation needs and ensure that your installation includes the following.

Soffit Vents

Soffit Vents are located under the eaves of your home. Natural Resources Canada recommends that "50 percent of the ventilation area should be continuous soffit vents" (Keeping the Heat In). If your home does not have sufficient soffit venting, we will add additional venting for you.

Roof Vents

Roof Vents and gable ridge vents should constitute the other 50 percent of the ventilation area (Keeping the Heat In). Our insulation consultants will also assess whether you might benefit from additional roof venting.

Moor Vents/Attic Baffles

Attic Baffles are the key to ensuring that insulation does not get into and block the eaves space which you need for proper ventilation. We will install baffles as required to prevent blockages from occurring.

Attic Hatches

Attic Hatches do not pre-exist in all homes. In order to gain access to your attic we will install an attic hatch. It is important to ensure your attic hatch is well sealed and is not contributing to air leakage. Read more about the quaility attic hatches we install on the manufacturer's website http://www.attic-hatch.ca/.
